This new Nursing service creates a pathway for people who need nursing support in their own homes following an ACC-related injury. The implementation has involved Clinical, Operations, Quality and Marketing teams collaborating to build the systems, processes, and infrastructure and marketing required before a large service rollout.
Clients will now benefit from a more coordinated and responsive service, with streamlined access through a single intake point to care for referrals and improved continuity of support. The update to a single client management system also provides a stronger foundation for delivering a more consistent and sustainable foundation for growth.

Early testing demonstrated positive outcomes for clients, including successful treatment of ACC-funded injury-related wounds and improved access to nursing support. These initial results provide confidence that the service will deliver meaningful health benefits as it expands.
Once fully established, ACC Nursing Services will provide a second funded route for ACC injury-related nursing care in the home alongside our existing Home Healthcare work. It will reduce the need for some whānau to attend GP clinics for ACC wound care after injury, removing cost barriers and supporting people to remain independent at home for longer. It also strengthens our ability to work with PHOs and community health partners, extending practical, whānau-centred care across the regions we serve.
